Ormeggio At The Spit
Italian Restaurant run by Head Chef Alessandro Pavoni.
The new Ormeggio website was conceived so that it was completely inside a window of 1024 px x 768px. That way it will be visible in the most common screen sized window running IE ion Windows XP.
We have used a unique feature to compliment our Search Engine Optimisation strategy. We installed a DHTML scroller to handle the text scrolling instead of the normal html iFrame scrollers to overcome the inherant trouble that Google has with indexing iFrames.
Not only does Google now freely navigate all content on the site but the new custom designed scroller looks much better than a browser rendered one.
The whole site is completely administered by several custom designed Content Management Systems. One handles all teh page content. We designed another one to handle all pages that have a slideshow. Another handles PDF downloads and another handles all menus and wine lists.
A special mention must go to Michela Boncagni who did the photography for the site. Her unique look at the world adds to the feel of this clean, upmarket restaurant and it is worth a look at the site just to view the wonderful photography.
Ormeggio is the Italian word for MOORING or BERTH and reflects the position of the restaurant as Ormeggio at the Spit is located in the d'Albora Marinas The Spit, on the left hand side of Spit Road as you head towards Manly from the city.
Our dream has always been to be a waterfront restaurant serving fine food, in a professional yet friendly style. Ormeggio at the Spit specialises in northern Italian cuisine. Sunset is not to be missed, with a glass of Franciacorta or northern Italian 'birra' in hand, relax and enjoy this beautiful location.
