Guy Hawson - Portfolio Website
Guy is a Sydney based artist and has been painting for 14 years.
DotCom Promotions were tasked to create an online portfolio website for Sydney based artist and muralist Guy Hawson. If you visit the site you will quickly see that Guy is an extremely talented artist, capable of creating work in a wide variety of styles. The fact that we were able to utilise such great artwork in the design process made the job a lot easier.
Guy Hawson has been shown in a number of group and solo exhibitions in Sydney, including the Elizabeth Street Gallery in 1987, Bookoccino in 1993 and 2004, the Albion Street Gallery in 1994 and 1995, Istral Gallery in 1995 and the Arthouse in 2001 and 2003 and has recently completed a series of paintings of the Anzac marchers.
The website was designed from the ground up to dynamically showcase portfolio pieces. To achieve this we designed and programmed a content management system and MySQL database that feeds the pieces and information into the portfolio.
Guy can now add paintings and murals to his website in seconds using a simple point and click upload engine and the editable database.
As an added feature we created a unique search engine for Guy that works with the portfolio database. The database has the ability to accept unlimited keywords for each piece and the search engine will sort and list by these keywords, as well as having the ability to search all existing database data.
